- When wearing a Choke Chain, make sure that the O-ring is over the dog's neck, but not under it. The process of training the dog by means of the choke chain consists of two stages - tightening and loosening. When the ring is under the dog's neck it is possible only to tighten the collar.
- Remember, that after tightening there must be a very brief releasing of the collar for dog not to choke.
- Do not make the dog wear the collar all the time; otherwise the dog will get used to it and the collar will become ineffective.

Julia, The funniest thing happened. My mastiff came bringing me a package in her mouth. (She normally goes and gets the mail for me daily.) Well, I opened it, and told her that it was ""something special"" for her. She immediately got up after laying down and we opened it and put her new collar on her. It fits her perfectly. I still wonder where she found it; I'd say UPS left it somewhere in the yard and she recognized it as mail and brought it to me! She is in training to be a service dog! Thanks for your help.
